His first breath took mine away...baby C.M.N.

This weekend I was honored with the chance to photograph the birth of Colton Maverick N. It was the most amazing experience I have ever had as a photographer. When his daddy first approached me about doing it I was a little unsure. I thought of my own experience in the delivery room and thought I wouldn't have wanted a camera in there! Nor was I sure how I would react being on the other side of things. But let me tell you, it was an overwhelmingly awesome experience, and quite emotional too! I would do it again and again! (so if you, or someone you know is interested in having a professional photograph a birth...) The images turned out STUNNING, if I do say so myself! I now wish I had images like this of the birth of my son. I didn't know Colton's family very well, but I will forever be connected to them because I got to share in the blessing of his birth with all of them. I owe them a huge THANK YOU for that!!

In the face of pain, Mom was a champ. Labor moved very slow at first and she worked hard to get ready for baby. It was hard to sit back at watch her in pain but she did so well.

I love this; mom & dad praying for a safe delivery and a healthy baby.
Once it was time, things went quick. I stood in the background while Mommy made a few (really, she's lucky!) pushes...

And there he was! It brings tears to my eyes every time I look at this image. Captured just the moment he arrived, Mommy holding her newborn baby on her chest for the first time while daddy looks on so lovingly.

Oh those precious first moments....

That's one proud daddy, wiping his tears. I don't think there was a dry eye in the room. It was such a beautiful moment.

It's crazy to think sometimes, but all because two people fell in love. <3

What a blessing, and a beautiful family. God is pretty amazing. I sometimes wonder what his plan in life is for me. Then there are days like this when I get the opportunity to photograph things like this and I know He wanted me there for that, to capture those moments for the N family. AMAZING!
